The challenge

Equals Money had aggressive growth plans of circa 25 heads per quarter – the people team had previously been tasked with managing the recruitment process and previous culture of using agencies to fulfil recruitment needs, which proved very costly. Hiring managers across the business working in silo’d fashion and a lack of visibility of pipeline activity and coverage for the central team.

We were initially tasked with being the designated internal recruitment function for the business which hadn’t existed prior, building relationships with hiring managers right across the business and delivering against open roles + bringing down agency spend all whilst implementing a uniform approach and process towards recruitment.

We reviewed and revamped the outreach strategy + offer, hiring and job description documentation, working as trusted partner with existing HR team and HRD, with whom we’ve developed a positive relationship.

Having a designated recruitment function in place has also resulted in an improved candidate experience in many aspects.

Training and coaching has also played a major part in our day to day activities – not only within the hiring manager community but also our HR sponsors have been keen to lean on our embedded team for hiring advice which we are now implementing on their behalf.
